A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting and working with members of the Gunner-Orton Family. The photo session was part of a celebration of Neil and Jenny’s 50th wedding anniversary which will occur abit later this summer. Their daughter, Simone, had contacted me several weeks earlier about doing a portrait session for Neil and Jenny and their extended family. In this day of fast paced busy lives it is difficult to get entire families together and this family was no exception with some traveling from the northern USA, Barry’s Bay, and Oakville to Neil and Jenny’s Bracebridge home. Even though the weather had threatened heavy showers I felt that we would be lucky and we were! As I pulled into Bracebridge the showers shopped and gave us a wonderful 1.5 hour window to gather everyone at Bass Rock Park and do the shoot. I love this tiny park. It has a real Muskoka look and feel and is a real hidden gem with even some long time Bracebridge residents not knowing where it is. I have used it before to shoot bride and groom and wedding party shots for some of the weddings I have shot in Bracebridge and clients seem to love it’s mix of water, rock and pines. I have posted a few of the images from our session below.

Flip Event and Meeting Planning Inc. – Event photography – Muskoka – Parry Sound
Yesterday I did a post about Sandy MacIntryre and the celtic group “Steeped in Tradition”. Today I want to profile the great corporate event planning and production company – Flip Event and Meeting Planning Inc. that designed the evening. I shoot a fair number of corporate events and this one was one of the nicest I have seen, everything was done in a Celtic theme with even the resort staff servicing the event wearing celtic garb. Below are a few more images from the event, including one of Joan, one of Flip Event’s key people and the piper, both in full celtic dress. Flip Events is based in both the GTA and Muskoka and provides a wide range of services, including event planning and production, event design, entertainment and team building.

Sandy MacIntryre – Steeped in Tradition – Event Photography – Muskoka – Parry Sound
Recently I was photographing a special event for a corporate client and I had the pleasure of hearing, seeing and photographing Sandy MacIntrye and the group “Steeped in Tradition”. Sandy and the group are orginally from Cape Breton and they play a stirring brand of traditional Cape Breton fiddle music. Sandy has been playing stiring Celtic music for over forty years and is a well know player and teacher of Cape Breton fiddling having performed and conducted workshops throughout the USA, Canada and abroad. As the evening got started the magical celtic sounds filled the hall we were in and had everyone moving to the music. In keeping with the celtic theme of the event there were three great stepdancers an awesome piper and a full assortment of celtic decorations. A few images from the evening follow. Kate Felsman assisted me with the shoot and took some of the room decor shots I have posted below.

Lisa & Graham – Muskoka Parry Sound Engagement Shoot
Lisa and Graham are another awesome couple that I got to know and work with in 2009. In the early spring of 2009 we got together for engagement shoot near Lake Joseph in the heart of Parry Sound, Muskoka country. There was still some snow in areas and we went for a walk with their wonderful, large, and friendly dog who is in some of the shots. I will do a post on Lisa and Graham’s wedding soon, but I thought I would start with a few shots from their engagement session.

Wedding Photography Highlights from Parry Sound, Muskoka Wedding Photograher – 2009 Season
Bayshore Photography had a great year in 2009. We photographed a large number of weddings, throughout Parry Sound, Muskoka and Central Ontario, meet some awesome couples, and shot in some incredibly beautiful settings.
Wedding venues we worked at in 2009, ranged from several high end resorts (The Rosseau – Marriott, near Minett; Delta Rocky Crest, near Parry Sound; and Horseshoe Valley Resort, near Barrie), to a many other interesting resorts, churches, cottages and outdoor venues. These included a beautiful spring wedding on the shores of the Lake of Two Rivers, in Algonquin Provincial Park, and a wonderful summer wedding for a couple from New Zealand, on Mowatt Island, in the heart of Geogian Bay’s 30,000 islands.
Over the next few months, we will be posting some highlights from our 2009 wedding season. So please stay tuned and check back frequently.
In the meantime, please take a few moments and explore our updated website. The portfolio section has several examples of Bayshore Photography’s wedding, portrait, and travel photography work. The client feedback section displays some of the great comments that we continue to receive from couples we have worked with, and the sample album section highlights one of the fully custom designed wedding albums that we did recently. Enjoy!
