Babes on Ice – Ice Out Georgian Bay – Parry Sound-Cambridge Portrait Photographer
When the ice leaves Georgian Bay each spring it’s an exciting time. Earlier this week I was fortunate to be able to combine some business and recreation while spending a few wonderful days at our Parry Sound area house and studio, just as the ice was leaving our part of Georgian Bay. One, warm, sunny afternoon I had the opportunity to get some interesting photographs of two great gals as they explored Killbear Park’s amazing shoreline and soaked up some spring time rays. It was Judy’s first visit to Killbear Provincial Park and it was great to see and hear her reaction to this amazingly beautiful part of the Parry Sound area at a magical time of the year.

A Life Well Lived
The passing of a loved one brings many feelings and memories. This past week I have been sorting through piles of ancient photographs taken by many people over the years to piece together a slide show for a celebration of the life of my mother, Betty Rae Brisbane. Examining, scanning and editing images related to one’s life clearly drives home the value of family, friends and taking the time to do the things that matter most for those close to you. In her last few months, Mom clearly knew she was not well and it was helpful when one day she told us “I have had a good life”. You did mom! We love and miss you.

Thank You and have a Happy, Healthy New Year from Bayshore Photography – Parry Sound & Cambridge Studios
As 2010 draws to a close I want say a HUGE THANK YOU to all the wonderful couples, families and businesses Bayshore Photography met and worked with this past year. You kept us busy, energized and engaged and we thank you from the bottom of my hearts.
You came from far (London, England) and near (Parry Sound and Cambridge) and you took us to some amazing venues. From intimate, lake side settings in Northern Ontario to wonderful cottages and luxury resorts throughout Parry Sound and Muskoka, and even out of the country to a fabulous five star resort in sunny, Cabo San Lucas, on the tip of Mexico’s Baja Penninula!
You helped expand our product range with orders for several custom sign in books and story-book albums, large canvas gallery wraps, and custom designed cards.
This past fall I have been playing catch up doing blog posts on some of the amazing weddings, engagements, portrait and commercial sessions that made up 2010 and I will do my best to continue to do regular blog posts on much of the rest of the 2010 line up in the coming months, in between working through the custom album orders from 2010 and preparing or another interesting year.
Best wishes to one and all for 2011! May we all have a wonderful year!
Below are a few late evening, December images from right outside the door of our Georgian Bay studio, just north of Parry Sound. Enjoy Life!

Custom Cards for all occassions – A note from Barb Kerr
It’s always great when past clients call to ask if you can supply something they have been purchasing from other sources. This happend to us recently when Barb Kerr of Investors Group Financial Services Inc. called to ask if we could do custom cards with a local Georgian Bay scene on them. I said “Sure” and sent Barb a selection of Georgian Bay images I shot this past summer. Barb quickly got back to me with her choice… a deeply coloured sunset shot I took among the islands just a few minute seadoo ride from our dock.
The inside page and front cover from Barb’s new 5 x7 inch custom cards are shown below.
If your interested in some custom folded cards, give us a call. We can do virtually any design and messaging, including custom Christmas cards using portrait images from past shoots. Something different than using a Hallmark card!

Images of Cape Town – South Africa – In Celebration of the FIFA World Cup
With the FIFA World Cup of THE GAME being held in South Africa this month it seemed like a good time to post a few travel photography shots I took during a working holiday in Cape Town, South Africa in 2009. Cape Town is an amazing city and it’s best known geographic feature is Table Mountain. The mountain’s table top like profile provides a striking backdrop to the city. One of the images below shows the mountain partly shrouded in cloud. This shot was taken across the bay from downtown Cape Town. Another image, taken just after the sun had set, shows the massive Cape Town stadium where many of the World Cup games will be played. At the time I was there the stadium was about 50% completed and workers were working 24/7 to ensure it would be finished in time for the big event.
Cape Town is a large, modern city with a real cosmopolitan vibe to it… but like many other parts of Africa I have explored it is a place of strong contrasts with many examples of both great wealth and extreme poverty. I wish it well as the World Cup focuses attention on this incredible part of the world.
Other examples of travel and wildlife photography from different parts of Africa as well as South America, can be found in the “Our World” galleries portfoilio section of the Bayshore Photography website. If you haven’t already done so please take a few minutes to check it out by following the link.

Georgian Bay – Beauty in My Backyard – Parry Sound Landscape Photography
Here’s a wee change of pace from the wedding, portrait work. Sunday evening, May 23, 2010 I have some free time, my wife Grace had headed off to do a night shift in OB at our local hospital and Georgian Bay was calling me. I grabbed one of my DSLRs, my 24-105 L, F 4, IS lens, and hoped on the seadoo. Less than a minute later I was surrounded still waters, a waining sun and some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Sometimes we take for granted what we have in our own backyard! If you’d like to see some of my travel/people/scenery images from some of the other amazing places around the world follow this link to the portfolio gallery on my website. There are three “Our World” galleries with a selecton of images from a few of the wonderful places I have visited and worked in. Georgian Bay doesn’t take a back seat to any of them. ENJOY!
