John Campbell New Business Portriats – Parry Sound – Cambridge Photographer

Last summer when doing some family portraits for Lori Lahti, of Dentistry on the Bay and John Campbell, Royal LePage Team Advantage Realty – Parry Sound, we ended the session by doing some images of John, alone.

John is a well know real-estate agent in the Parry Sound area and it had been quite a while since he had updated his business photos so we used the white key set up I had been using for some of the family images and got a range of shots for John’s business use.

John is a life long resident of Parry Sound and his friendly, outgoing nature serve him well in chosen profession. If your looking to buy or sell a property in the Parry Sound area give John a call.

Portriats for Author – Matt Lennox – Parry Sound, Cambridge Photographer

One of the things I enjoy about being a photographer is the diverse and interesting range of people I meet and work with. Matt Lennox is an good example. We met earlier this summer when Matt contacted me about doing his portrait for his publisher HarperCollins Canada’s spring book catalogue.

Matt is a young, rugged, well travelled, soul who served in Kandahar between 2008 and 2009 as a Captain with the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves. He has also travelled to many interesting far east countries.

Matt’s new, and first book of fiction -”The Carpenter” is being published by HarperCollins in the spring of 2012 and promises to be a great read. HarperCollins describes the novel as a suspenceful, tightly plotted story set in a god-fearing small town in the eighties, rift with poisonous secrets, grudges passed on through the generataion and a dark undercurrent of crime. HarperCollins also describes Matt’s writing style that is uniquely direct.

As we worked away shooting the images, and as Matt described his novel to me I wondered to myself… hmm…was I photographing his generation’s future Hemingway?

Matt’s other previously published work is a collection of short stories he wrote while in Kandahr. Entitled Men of Salt, Men of Earth. the collection was published by Oberon in 2009. The collection was shortlisted for the 2010 ReLit award.

Recently I had the pleasure of working once again with Nicole and Claudette Boyd, brokers with Royal LePage Team Advantage Realty in Parry Sound. I had first met the Boyd girls five years ago when I first did their business portriats. When they felt it was time for some portait updates for their website and promotional material I was pleased to have them call to arrange another portait session. As it was still winter in the Parry Sound area when we did the shoot, we opted to do the session in studio. A few of the shots from our session are below.

As 2010 draws to a close I want say a HUGE THANK YOU to all the wonderful couples, families and businesses Bayshore Photography met and worked with this past year. You kept us busy, energized and engaged and we thank you from the bottom of my hearts.

You came from far (London, England) and near (Parry Sound and Cambridge) and you took us to some amazing venues. From intimate, lake side settings in Northern Ontario to wonderful cottages and luxury resorts throughout Parry Sound and Muskoka, and even out of the country to a fabulous five star resort in sunny, Cabo San Lucas, on the tip of Mexico’s Baja Penninula!

You helped expand our product range with orders for several custom sign in books and story-book albums, large canvas gallery wraps, and custom designed cards.

This past fall I have been playing catch up doing blog posts on some of the amazing weddings, engagements, portrait and commercial sessions that made up 2010 and I will do my best to continue to do regular blog posts on much of the rest of the 2010 line up in the coming months, in between working through the custom album orders from 2010 and preparing or another interesting year.

Best wishes to one and all for 2011! May we all have a wonderful year!

Custom Cards for all occassions – A note from Barb Kerr

It’s always great when past clients call to ask if you can supply something they have been purchasing from other sources. This happend to us recently when Barb Kerr of Investors Group Financial Services Inc. called to ask if we could do custom cards with a local Georgian Bay scene on them. I said “Sure” and sent Barb a selection of Georgian Bay images I shot this past summer. Barb quickly got back to me with her choice… a deeply coloured sunset shot I took among the islands just a few minute seadoo ride from our dock.

If your interested in some custom folded cards, give us a call. We can do virtually any design and messaging, including custom Christmas cards using portrait images from past shoots. Something different than using a Hallmark card!

We’re growing!!! A new studio, new cards…

Those of you who follow my blog and facebook page know we have recently opened a southern Ontario studio in Cambridge to help us better serve the Southern Ontario market. We will be continuing to have a strong presence throughout the Parry Sound – Muskoka region through our studio on the shores of Georgian Bay, near Parry Sound, while using the Cambridge studio as our base for Southern Ontario.

The new Cambridge studio has nice high ceilings, tons of storeage, and awesome natural light. As well, it has lots of room to display our ever expanding portfolio, a great office space, and a wonderful room for client consults. The Girls of Dentistry on the Bay – Parry Sound

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of doing a series of business portraits for Dr. Lori Lahti and the associates and staff of Dentistry on the Bay, a modern, professional dental clinic located in Parry Sound Ontario. Dr. Lahti recently had an ultra modern clinic built to house her growing business and she was after a range of images of her associates and staff. As Dr. Lahti wanted white background for the images I took my portable back drop stands, a 12 foot roll of white backdrop paper, my Alien Bee studio lights , and other gear, into her clinic and we set up a portable studio in the front of the office and did the shoot during an extended lunch and business meeting that Dr. Lahti had scheduled. I opted to go for a white high key look and had a blast working with Dr. Lahti, and her team. These gals are high energy and high on life! We got some great images and I am sure that you will see many of them over time on the Dentistry on the Bay website and in Dr. Lahti’s print material. Below are a few of the images we captured. Business Portraits – Barb Kerr – Investors Group Financial Services Inc. – Parry Sound

It’s always great to have repeat clients. Recently Barb Kerr, a popular financial consultant with Investors Group Financial Services Inc. in Parry Sound, called to say she wanted to get together to do an update of her business photographs. I had done some business images of Barb a few years earlier so I was happy to have the opportunity to work with her again. We found a date and time that worked for Barb’s busy schedule and did a range of in studio, head and shoulder style shots that would met the criteria set out by Investors Group head office.
