A Portrait Session with Baby Veronica and Her family – Parry Sound Family Portraits

One of the wonderful families I had the pleasure of working with late last fall was Heather, Jade, their young daughter, Veronica, and Heather’s mother, father, and brother. As the weather was starting to get that late fall, early winter bite, we did the session in my studio, just north of Parry Sound.

Veronica is a cutie and her mom and dad had her done up in a spiffy plaid dress. We had a fun session and everyone enjoyed their time in front of the camera, and trying to make the others laugh during their turn.

I met Sarah and Roy in 2007 when I did their engagement and wedding photos. This past October I had the pleasure of photographing them once again, but this time with their wonderful daughter, Olivia. Olivia was just about to celebrate a birthday when we did these shots. Sarah recently celebrated a birthday of her own so I thought it would be fitting to post a few of the images from our October session as a bit of belated birthday to Sarah. Best wishes guys. You have a wonderful daughter!

As 2010 draws to a close I want say a HUGE THANK YOU to all the wonderful couples, families and businesses Bayshore Photography met and worked with this past year. You kept us busy, energized and engaged and we thank you from the bottom of my hearts.

You came from far (London, England) and near (Parry Sound and Cambridge) and you took us to some amazing venues. From intimate, lake side settings in Northern Ontario to wonderful cottages and luxury resorts throughout Parry Sound and Muskoka, and even out of the country to a fabulous five star resort in sunny, Cabo San Lucas, on the tip of Mexico’s Baja Penninula!

You helped expand our product range with orders for several custom sign in books and story-book albums, large canvas gallery wraps, and custom designed cards.

This past fall I have been playing catch up doing blog posts on some of the amazing weddings, engagements, portrait and commercial sessions that made up 2010 and I will do my best to continue to do regular blog posts on much of the rest of the 2010 line up in the coming months, in between working through the custom album orders from 2010 and preparing or another interesting year.

Best wishes to one and all for 2011! May we all have a wonderful year!

Merry Christmas and some personal Family Portraits from our Cambridge Ontario Studio

Well in addition to wishing everyone a safe, happy and healthy Holiday Season, this is sort of a Christmas present to Grace and I.

Those of you who follow my site know I rarely post any images of my own family but I thought I would switch that up for this post. Recently we expanded, and opened a studio in Cambridge, while maintaining our Parry Sound area studio base. Recenty my daughter Jodie flew in from Calgary with our grandson Tony and our daughter in law, Sheri, who lives ten minutes away from our new Cambridge studio, came over with our other grandson, David. This provided a great opportunity to use the studio to grab a few personal, family images. I opted to shoot them with two alien bee strobes, in low key, with the dark black backdrop. I find this approach tends to keep the focus directly on the subjects.

Family Portraits with Sadie and her family – Blackstone Lake – Parry Sound

In September we had the pleasure of working with the Brown family once again. We photographed Lisa and Graham’s wedding in May, 2009, and they had purchased a gift certificate for a portrait session and a print package as a gift for Lisa’s bother Ryan and his fiance, and now wife, Collette. Collette had called me early in 2010 to let me know they wanted to hold off on doing the shoot as they were expecting their first child this spring.

This September, Sadie was four months old and everyone gathered at Grandma and Grandpa Brown’s home on Blackstone Lake for the portrait session. I had photographed Lisa and Collette at the same location in May, 2009 as Lisa, Collette and the other girls in Lisa’s wedding party had gotten ready at Brown family residence. We got a lot of shots of Sadie, and her family, with one of my favourites being Sadie exploring her dad and mom’s toes.

We also got some shots of Lisa and Graham in exactly the same spot that Lisa had posed on May 30, 2010, in her wedding dress, just before heading off for her wedding to Graham. This time Lisa and Graham were expecting and I am happy to say that about 2 weeks after we took these images, Lisa delivered Graydon, a healthy baby boy, and a cousin for Sadie.

We’re growing!!! A new studio, new cards…

Those of you who follow my blog and facebook page know we have recently opened a southern Ontario studio in Cambridge to help us better serve the Southern Ontario market. We will be continuing to have a strong presence throughout the Parry Sound – Muskoka region through our studio on the shores of Georgian Bay, near Parry Sound, while using the Cambridge studio as our base for Southern Ontario.

The new Cambridge studio has nice high ceilings, tons of storeage, and awesome natural light. As well, it has lots of room to display our ever expanding portfolio, a great office space, and a wonderful room for client consults. To reflect these changes we now have a toll free number for Canadian and USA based clients 1-877-942-1661 and new business cards. The back and front sides of the cards are shown below. Giving Back to the Community – print donations to WPSHC Foundation – Parry Sound

Last year I was approached by some of the staff in the Obstetrics Unit at the West Parry Sound Health Centre to see if I would be interested in donating some baby and child prints to help brighten up the area. I selected three different types of images and had them enlarged and framed and then, after discussions with Lynne Atkinson, Executive Director of the Foundation for WPSHC, Bayshore Photography donated the three framed prints to the Foundation. The prints were strategically placed in the obstetrics unit and served to brighten the faces of the nurses, patients and visitors who passed them. Recently the OB unit was relocated and the prints are waiting to be rehung in the new OB unit. This should happen over the next few weeks. Shortly before the framed prints donation I was approached by a staff member in the physio department, whose wedding I shot in 2005, about them using one of my baby images on some of their physio print material. Again this seemed like a great opportunity to support the local hospital and to give back to the community, so I was happy to oblige and now one of my baby in mom’s hands shots if helping promote the physiotherapy department and the good work they do.

The images used in the framed prints donated to the Foundation and in the physio brochure are included below.

Favourite Fathers Day Images
