Last March, Emma and Spencer booked me to shoot there 2011 wedding. Recently we got together and took a short boat ride out to a few of the more secluded Georgian Bay Islands near my Parry Sound area studio for their engagement photo shoot. We ended up with a large number of great images and Emma tells me it is going to be hard to her and Spencer to narrow them down for the custom sign in book I will be doing for them later this year. We had a blast doing the shoot and I think it shows in the images. A small selection of the images from the engagement shoot follow.

Eve & Graham – Country Boy Marries Big City Girl
Graham grew up in Severn Falls, Big Chute Country, on the lower end of Muskoka, a special place full of water, rocks, trees and space. Eve is a Big City Girl who feels very much at home in the largest cities in Canada. Love bridges all and once these two met on a first date several years ago they knew they were meant for each other. Eve got ready at Graham’s folks place on the Severn River and they got married in one of the most beautiful churches in Orillia. After the cermony and family shots we headed off to a small farm setting for some wedding party and bride and groom alone, as a married couple for the first time, shots. Then it was off to Hawk Ridge Golf and Country Club for a great reception that carried on into the night. Graham has turned Eve into an expert fishergal and Eve has converted Graham to big city life. Shortly after their return from their honey moon in St. Lucia they are taking possession of their new home in Milton.

Lacey & Jayson – A dream wedding in Pointe au Baril
When I did their engagement photo session last fall I knew that Georgian Bay and the outdoors played a big part in Lacey and Jayson’s lives. They continued those themes for their wedding in Pointe au Baril this July, right down to the bride’s, camo shoes and wrapping for her bouquet. Lacey got ready at her folks place at Sturgeon Bay Marina and then headed off to the cutest church I have seen in years. Almost everyone, including the guys and gals, arrived at the church via boat. Their britteny spaniel joined in the wedding party and made himself at home at the foot of the table as Lacey and Jayson signed the paperwork. After the regular family shots we headed out on the Bay to the historic light house that guides boats safely in from the big open water to the sheltered channel to Pointe au Baril. We had a great time and got some awesome images using the light house and the great Georgian Bay coast line as a backdrop. Lacey proved to the the most venturesome of all of my brides, ever! She and Jayson made their way up the steep, narrow ladder-like stair case and through a tiny opening to get to the top the lighthouse for some more great shots. The reception hall was also on the water and was decked out with it’s own lighthouse, a shooting gallery (you had to hit a duck to get the bride and groom to kiss), and a live band. Everyone had and awesome time and partyed on well into the night.
